Women invited to special fundraising lunch at Hilton Newcastle-Gateshead

THE founder of one of the region’s best-known care home and nursery operators will speak to hundreds of female professionals at the fourth annual International Women’s Day networking lunch next month.

The Community Foundation will host the March 11 event, which is in aid of the Women’s Fund, at the Hilton Newcastle-Gateshead.

The main event will see Helen McArdle, chairman and founder of Gateshead-based Helen McArdle Care, and Susan Bickerton, chief executive of Newcastle-based charity Norcare Ltd, talking to Caroline Theobald about business with a cause.

They will share their experiences and advice about running an organisation that gives back to society.

Pummi Mattu, chair of the Women’s Fund at the Community Foundation, said: “Last year’s event was a great success. It was wonderful seeing so many local, professional women supporting the Women’s Fund. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and a few lucky ones took home fantastic prizes. We’re hoping to break our records this year and raise more than £5,000. This is a great opportunity to network and raise funds.”

Fiona Cruickshank, last year’s guest speaker, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing new faces at this year’s event.

“The Community Foundation, with the support of sponsors Deloitte and the Hilton, put together a really professional event with a friendly atmosphere. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day.”Tickets for the event are now on sale for £30 per person or £300 for a table until Monday.

Thereafter tickets will be available at the price of £35 per person. For more information about ticket availability visit the Community Foundation website or email Whitney Punchak Read More ...
