The current Miss Australia, Jesinta Campbell, who finished third at the Miss Universe pageant last month in Las Vegas, is claiming that she was sabotaged during the live telecast by a fellow contestant, the Herald Sun reported on September 7. Campbell told the Sun that “I put (the dress) on just before I was due to go out on parade but I felt these sharp pains when something stuck into my back.” She added that when she took the top of her dress off, she noticed “all these pins had been stuck into it.”
But Campbell isn’t too upset about the sabotage. It ”…was a bit harsh, but you have to laugh at these things and not take it too seriously and it did give me a story to tell when I got home,” she also told the Sun. She added that while she doesn’t know for sure who ruined her dress out of her fellow 81 competitors, certain countries from Central and South America were very competitive.
