MUMBAI: Three Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists were arrested for allegedly attacking 'pani puri' vendors and threatening to kill them after damaging their stalls in south Mumbai's Fort area, police said on Friday.

The MNS workers attacked the street-food vendors, mostly migrants from UP and Bihar, in Fort and Dadar areas on Thursday night after it was reported that a vendor in neighbouring Thane city appeared to be urinating in a jug used to prepare snacks and it was caught on a camera, police said.

The MNS workers Ganesh Pawar (25), Mohammed Shafi Shaikh (22) and Kailas Telgi (22) were apprehended by MRA Marg police station after they attacked 'pani puri' vendors in Fort.

The MNS's South Mumbai head Arvind Gawade and eight others were shown wanted in the case, police said.

Similarly, a case was registered against seven MNS workers at Dadar Police Station after fast food street vendors were attacked there. The seven are still wanted, police said. Read More
