On November 29th, Mnet hosted its 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (‘MAMA‘) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, attracting stars and performers from both Korea and around the world.

This year, the awards ceremony tried out something new by having 20 presenters instead of official MCs to host the show. These presenters were comprised of Korea’s top actors and TV personalities, who helped distribute the awards to the winning artists.

Chun-Li makes everything better—whether that be Jackie Chan movies or South Korean pop.

The latest single from South Korean pop outfit Orange Caramel, no strangers to dressing up, is "Shanghai Romance". Previously, the group cosplayed as Bruce Lee while singing "Shanghai Romance".

While dressed as Chun-Li, the girls didn't pull off any Spinning Bird kicks, but did unleash "kikouken".

Orange Caramel gained a new legion of fans, thanks to their hilarious performance on MBC‘s ‘Music Core‘!

On November 5th, the trio stepped out in ‘Chun Li’ costumes for their “Shanghai Romance” stage, and added new moves in honor of the ‘Street Fighter‘ character. For instance, some ‘bad guys’ in taekwondo uniforms ‘attacked’ the stage, but the girls fended them off with a triple ‘Kikouken‘, one of Chun Li’s famous moves.

SEOUL - South Korean pop music popularity, known as K-Pop, turned out to lure Google to take advantage of febrile world of K-Pop is.

One form is Google's launch in YouTube streaming video service for the South Korean pop music, by setting up a special channel on the site.

Launched by Bloomberg on Monday (7/11/2011), the channel on video site free from Google will help spread the "Korean Wave", a term cultural invasion of South Korea to the world, ranging from music, soap operas until Mahwa (Korean manga version) .

Kepastiaan itself obtained after Chairman Eric Schmidt told South Korean President Lee Myung Bak in a meeting in Seoul today. Lee also requested that Google continues to improve cooperative relations with the South.

A new service dedicated to K-Pop will build on the popularity of music and drama that comes from state television, Samsung Electronics Co. and the house where the search engine operator is facing antitrust complaint.

Video boyband and girlband groups like Girls' Generation and Super Junior have produced tens of millions of page view in the entire world on YouTube.

In Seoul, Schmidt also met Co. Chief Executive Officer of SK Telecom and Ha Sung Min discussed cooperation in wireless payments and social network services. Google in South Korea's plan also includes services to make it easier to start a business.... READ MORE

SINGAPORE: K-pop girl group SNSD (aka Girl's Generation) will be staging a second performance on December 10, 6pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, after all 5,500 tickets to their first show were sold out within four hours of going on sale recently.

Tickets to SNSD's second concert will go on sale from November 2 for Samsung customers and OCBC cardholders while members of the public can purchase their tickets from November 4 via SISTIC.

"We're over the moon that the girls are able to perform a second night here as we understand there are many fans who might not have gotten their tickets.

"With the additional show on 10 Dec, we hope this will give fans a greater opportunity to watch the concert and deter anyone from purchasing tickets from the black market", said concert promoter Running Into The Sun's (RITS) Managing Director Beatrice Chia-Richmond.

Tickets to the nine-member girl group's first concert on December 9 were exceedingly popular and attracted the attention of black market profiteers, who began selling tickets on the black market for as much as S$1,000 per ticket.

The most expensive ticket to SNSD's concert here costs only S$218.

A spokesperson for RITS said the company has already begun taking various measures to combat black market profiteers.

The company is also working with their ticketing service provider and the concert venue on a new system to identify and turn away people who had purchased their tickets on the black market.... READ MORE
