Beauty news How vain are you?

Beauty news How vain are you?

Think StockThink StockCan you step out of the house without make-up? For many women the answer is "no". A new study has found that one in three women won't leave their homes — even to go grocery shopping — without powdering their noses, the UK's Daily Mail reported. The study, commissioned by British beauty store Superdrug, also found that six out of 10 wouldn't consider going to work without a full face of make-up. And for those super-conscious of bearing their fresh-faced skin, one in 10 women admitted they would never allow their partner see them without make-up.
"For many women," Superdrug spokeswoman Sara Wolverson said, "putting their make-up on is an important part of their day, and the thought of people seeing them without can be horrifying.

Think Stock"We know that when it comes to cutting back, cosmetics are seen as an essential. Wearing and buying cosmetics is not about vanity. It's about giving a woman confidence to succeed in every area of their life."

Superdrug also found that women spend an average of $15,000 in a lifetime on beauty products. When you add it all up over the year — $60 on foundation, $40 mascara, $30 eye shadow, $50 in lippy, $30 on bronzing powder, $30 on blush, $20 eyeliner — you can see how easily the money disappears.
And for a lot of beauty buffs, the cost is a lot higher. We love glossing a lot more than the average beautygoer and estimate we'd spend $28,000 in a lifetime on make-up alone!
