Sophie Monk Is No Longer Engaged

Said Monk of her leading man in February, "With Jimmy, I just love everything about him."

Sophie Monk has revealed her engagement to French businessman Jimmy Esebag has been called off. She made the surprise announcement this afternoon while appearing as a guest on US comedian Chelsea Handler's show Chelsea Lately in Sydney, with the news leaking by audience members via Twitter.
Just last month, Monk, 31, told WHO she was feeling renewed and more secure than ever in her relationship with the US-based Esebag, 50, who she described as “a male version of myself”.
“When you know, you know,” the self-professed reformed “commitment-phobe” told WHO following her Jan. 25 engagement news, which she broke to good pal Kyle Sandilands on his 2Day FM radio show. Monk was filling in for Jackie O, who was on maternity leave.
Esebag, chairman of the United Licensing Group, which owns the rights to the Playboy brand, had become a close friend and confidant of Monk's over the past several years, before their relationship became romantic. He proposed by the rooftop pool of Monk's "favourite restaurant", Hollywood’s swish London Hotel.
Monk, who was engaged to Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in 2006, said to WHO of her fiancĂ©: “He balances me ... He's given me a new perspective on my life."
Just days ago, the Click actress was spotted wearing her engagement ring while visiting family along with Esebag at her native Gold Coast in Queensland.
