"St Kilda Girl": My Side Of The Story

Thrown out of the family home and rejected by friends, the Melbourne teenager at the centre of the St Kilda nude photo scandal still stands behind her actions. “I have had so many emails praising me for taking a stand for other women who have been treated like crap,” the 17 year old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, tells WHO. “All I wanted from the start was an apology.”
The teenager, who in December posted nude photos of St Kilda players Nick Riewoldt and Nick Dal Santo after a relationship with another St Kilda player broke down, says that when she told the footballer, whom she had been seeing, she was pregnant he was “hyperventilating on the phone and started crying.”
The girl, who says she was pregnant with twins and lost both — one to a miscarriage; the other was stillborn — claims she met the player during a leadership talk (St Kilda denies they first met at the leadership talk) and saw him again following an AFL match in March last year.
“He asked, ‘How old are you?’” she says, “and I said, ‘I’m going to be 17 soon.’ And his friend said, ‘OK, that’s legal.’ ”
The Melbourne teen says the footballer later invited her to his house in Melbourne. On one occasion, after sleeping with the man at his home, she claims other footballers came in to the room. The girl, who was drunk at the time, says some players tried to coax her into masturbating them. The teenager refused, but had sex with the footballer while the players were in the room.“I knew morally it wasn’t right,” she says. “But I was so pissed.”
A relationship ensued with the footballer. “I loved the lifestyle so much,” says the teenager. “Holding hands with someone famous—and everyone staring ... And he paid for everything, like going out to restaurants. It felt so cool.”
