Angelina Jolie’s first work as a director, ‘In the Land of Blood and Honey’, absolutely can not be underestimated. The film was successfully nominated for a Golden Globe, and many observers gives two thumbs up for this war film background. Now, Angelina is rumored to have a new project that takes the setting of Afghanistan.
So far the project is likely also a background of war is still not running. Licensing is not a problem faced by Angelina Jolie. Funds also seemed to not inhibit this project. The problem actually is Angelina Jolie herself. She does not feel confident to continue this project.
The project that takes Afghanistan setting is also not only a wish because Angelina Jolie has started the process of making a script although eventually she stopped in mid-story. “I feel the story is not good. Maybe later I’ll start again but right now I am not confident to begin with,” said Jolie, according to ContactMusic.... READ MORE
No one thought that Taylor Swift was trusted to work on the movie soundtrack of The Hunger Games that will be launched next March. If only he did not show off this soundtrack that is titled Safe & Sound on her Twitter, it could be that no one knows until the movie is aired.
“And this is it, the big surprise … Go get it!” Taylor Swift wrote while providing a link to the cover of the soundtrack that she displayed in Instagram. A few moments later Taylor Swift again provided a link, this time to iTunes but the most exciting is probably a link to the news in RollingStone.com which has the full song on YouTube.
According to ComingSoon, the track titled Safe & Sound is the result of collaboration of Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars. Although Taylor Swift’s voice dominates but the vocals of Joy Williams and John Paul White is still audible in the background.
The Hunger Games itself tells a story about the struggle of 12 representatives from different districts in a struggle between life and death. The movie which will be launched through Lionsgate, is directed by Gary Ross and puts the name of Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland.... Zeitgeist 2011: How to browse the information world
Soon this year will end, we invite you to see more big events, interesting news, and figures that make up this year. We analyze billions of queries typed into Google throughout the year to provide an overview of the year 2011 as seen through the lens of Google search.
Methodology
To compile the 2011 Year-End Zeitgeist, we studied a collection of billions of typed queries that Google users in search of this year. We use data from various sources, including Insights for Search and the tool's internal data. We also want any spam filter that same query to a list that we made this year reflect as accurately as possible. All search queries we studied are anonymous, no personal information is used.
A word about how to decipher the list: unless otherwise noted, all search terms are most popular during the years of 2011-are rated according to search queries with the largest volume this year. Sometimes we put the query "rising star", which means we found the most popular searches conducted in 2011, and then make a ranking based on the high increase in popularity compared to the year 2010. Instead, the query "free fall" is very popular in 2010, but mediocre in 2011.
About Visualization
Normalized tracking numbers reflect the number of searches have been performed for a specific term, related to the total number of searches done on Google over time. This figure does not represent the absolute number for search volume because the data were normalized and presented with a scale of 0-100. Each query is divided by the highest point of achievement, or 100. If we do not have enough data, which appears is 0. Read more about how we scale a and normalize the data search.
Regarding visualization "Home"
Clicking "See more detail" for one of the pictures home search will display a summary narrative with graph information to "rising searches" in 2011. This graph shows increase in search volume, the volume throughout the year, compared with the volume-related events, and the corresponding volume of the country.
Note: since this is the 10 queries on the rise globally, a term can appear in the top position in the list on the rise but still have a lower search volume than any other queries.
About visualization "Top 10 List"
Visualization matrix displays weekly volume normalized for the search term for the year 2011. Select query on the left of the screen to see the volume search terms throughout the year. Compare search terms by selecting an additional list. Mouse over the matrix to see related news article, and adjust the slider time to separate the specific time period.
Note: The list is designated as a "rising star" to measure how much each term growth compared to 2010, which means, the term may appear in the top position on the list on the rise but have a lower search volume than any other queries.

Leo looked up to 7.94 million in emotional game on his panpipe, Sven Mueller and Mark Ashley singing at Abfeiern to “Modern Talking”. The course has served on the day’s victory, but the Cologne station has still lost viewers to the same final.
2010 sat in the top 10.07 million in the Super talent-final in front of the screen. So those are 2 million less, an almost dramatic crash. At that time, Freddy won Sahin-Scholl. Here’s a question for all the netizens in China: what do Internet rumors and cocaine have in common?
According to Chinese state media, they are, in fact, very similar.
China is ramping up its campaign against “unhealthy” information online, with a particular focus on the country’s hugely popular microblogs.
You may recall the government’s attempt to curb Internet rumors by urging microbloggers to use their real names back in October. It is now stepping up the efforts to wipe out Internet rumorville by publishing a series of rather strongly worded editorials in official media outlets.
Here’s one from Xinhua Online: Please Don’t Let Internet Rumors Poison Our Conscience (切莫让网络谣言毒害我们善良的心). Similarly, People’s Daily also ran an editorial titled “Online Rumors are Narcotics, Please Resist and Stay Away” (网络谣言是毒品, 请自觉抵制和远离).
The coordinated propaganda continues with more action-packed titles, such as Xinhua’s “Let Our Combination Punch Cut Internet Rumor’s Spreading Chain” (让“组合拳”斩断网络谣言的“传播链”), and People’s Daily’s “Give Online Rumor Spreaders a Fierce Head-On Attack” (对网络造谣传谣者就应当“迎头痛击”).
All of the commentaries emphasize the “addictive” and “damaging” nature of Internet rumors, which they say could be “no less (if not more) harmful than gambling, pornography and drugs.” The overriding message: netizens should have “zero tolerance” to uphold an orderly society.... READ MORE
USING a wireless laptop on their lap can harm a man's fertility, researchers have warned.
Electromagnetic wi-fi radiation could "nuke'' sperm, the scientists said.
Argentinian researchers placed semen samples from 29 healthy men under a laptop hooked into the internet via wi-fi and hit download.
Four hours later some sperm appeared to have been nuked.
A quarter of the sperm were no longer swimming, compared with 14 per cent from samples stored at the same temperature away from the computer.
And 9 per cent of the sperm showed DNA damage three times more than the comparison samples.
Lead researcher Conrado Avendano, of Nascentis Medicina Reproductiva in Cordoba, said in the medical journal Fertility And Sterility: "We do not know whether this effect is induced by all laptop computers connected by wi-fi to the internet or what use conditions heighten this effect.''
The findings fuel concerns raised by other research teams.
Last year urologists found a man sitting with a laptop balanced on his knees can crank up the temperature of his scrotum to levels that can harm sperm.
But Society for Male Reproduction and Urology president Dr Robert Oates said he did not believe laptops were a significant threat to male reproductive health.
"This is a completely artificial setting to me it doesn't have any human biological relevance,'' he told Reuters.
He added that no study had looked at whether laptop use influenced fertility or pregnancy... READ MORE
The Court of Appeal has upheld a landmark ruling that gives priority to company pensioners - ahead of creditor banks and bondholders - when those companies become insolvent.
Today's decision is a victory for the Government's Pensions Regulator.
But critics warned the ruling could deter lenders to businesses and "impact on corporate Britain's ability to sustain any sort of recovery".
The appeal was brought by administrators acting for the estates of two bankrupt firms.
The bank Lehman Brothers has pension scheme liabilities of £125 million and the Canadian telecoms group Nortel Networks £2.1bn.
Appeal judges Lord Justice Laws, Lord Justice Lloyd and Lord Justice Rimer unanimously backed a ruling by Mr Justice Briggs in the High Court last December that UK law requires that the pensioners get paid before the banks who have lent the bankrupt company money.
Lord Justice Lloyd said that "despite the oddities, anomalies and inconveniences" of the High Court decision, it was right not least because the only alternative would be that the pension scheme liabilities would "go into a black hole".
The appeal judge said: "That cannot have been the intention of Parliament."
The case may now go to the Supreme Court for a final ruling.
Under section 75 of the Pensions Act 1995, a company sponsoring a defined benefits pension scheme can be obliged to make up any shortfall between the scheme's assets and its liabilities. ... READ MORE
The European Human Rights system grants foreign murders the right to have a family life but it is powerless to deal with the real evils of a show-trial of a former Prime Minister in the ex-Soviet state of Ukraine.
This Ukranian episode clearly demonstrates the toothlessness of European human rights system to bring about any real and effective civil liberties in the countries that need it the most.
It also illustrates the sheer absurdity of Britain complying with every judgment of a system that, when it comes to the crunch, really cannot be left to protect the civil liberties of those who need it most.
This is now crystal clear from the empty wallowing of the EU following the evidently politically motivated Ukranian criminal sentence of their former PM, Yulia Tymoshenko. Yulia was once the heroine of the ‘Orange Revolution’ that sought to democratise and modernise Ukraine.
We give millions of pounds to the EU, which has now absorbed the European human rights mechanism into itself, but there is nothing that this system can do about Stalinistic trials conducted by the current Ukranian government in order to get rid of its biggest rival.
Meanwhile convicted rapists in the UK are given more European human rights than homeless ex-Servicemen on the streets of our largest cities.
Ukraine has been a member of the European Convention of Human Rights (which we know as the Human Rights Act) since the mid-1990s; but its court system has hardly changed since the days of the USSR.... READ MORE
Mira Sorvino was not wearing her Mighty Aphrodite clothes when she attacked me at the BBC World Debate programme on Human Trafficking. Her dress was a demure tartan instead, though with high transparent platform heels.
The programme has become accessible online in the UK, which it was not originally, so if you couldn’t see it before try again – it may now be watchable wherever you are. I wrote about the background to this show before I was flown to Luxor for it and afterwards when it went online in January.
Editors cut and re-arranged the debate from its original sequence, softening Mira Sorvino’s personal attack on me by placing it quite late, when in reality she freaked out only a few minutes after we began – after I had answered a question only twice, I think. She was backed by an audience composed of non-critical anti-trafficking campaigners brought in by the UN and Mrs Mubarak, now fallen from prestige but acting like a queen at the time (December 2010). There’s more about the Sorvino experience at the Huffington Post, but I can’t explain whether or not she knows how to reconcile her earlier sex-worker role with her moral outrage now.
If you have time to click here, I’d be grateful to know if it is not available wherever you are – that is, if you get a message saying Not available in your area. Even if you don’t have the time or will to watch the whole thing. If you want to see La Sorvino, she comes a few minutes into Part 4.... READ MORE
Wang Chen, chief of the information office of China's State Council, or cabinet, said more than 15 million people had gone online since the last official figures were released in July.
The growing strength and influence of the web population has fuelled concern in Beijing about the Internet's potential as a tool for generating social unrest, and authorities have stepped up surveillance in recent years.
The government blocks web content that it deems politically sensitive in a vast system dubbed the "Great Firewall of China".
But it has struggled to control the increasingly popular weibos, or microblogs -- sites similar to Twitter that provide a new avenue for mass expression in a tightly controlled information landscape.
Speaking at an industry roundtable, Wang said China now had more 300 million microbloggers, while the number of rural rural Internet users had reached 130 million.... READ MORE

Sanawar (HP), Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will tie the knot with Jetsun Pema, an alumnus of Lawrence School here, on October 13.
"The information about the Royal wedding''s date was received through an email, sent by Pema''s mother, requesting the school authorities to allow the bride''s younger sister Serchen Doma, a class XII student at Lawrence, to travel to Bhutan to attend the celebrations," said a teacher of the school.
"Jetsun was here for two years from 2006 while Serchen Doma is still studying here," he added.
The 31-year-old Oxford-educated king had announced in his inaugural address to the parliament on May 20 that he intended to marry Jetsun in October.
The GOP12 candidates on Monday rushed to condemn President Obama’s plan to pay for his jobs bill by raising taxes on the wealthy and corporations, predicting the plan would fail to create jobs.
Rick Perry called Obama’s plan a “bait and switch that offers more than a trillion dollars in higher taxes for a promise of temporary tax relief.”
“The president penalizes investment when it is needed most, discourages charitable giving and doubles down on a failed government stimulus strategy,” Perry said.
Mitt Romney predicted it “will have a crushing impact on economic growth.”
Obama’s speech on Monday morning clarified a tax plan that would pay for his $447 billion jobs bill. Obama’s proposed $3 trillion deficit-cutting plan includes $1.5 trillion in tax hikes on the wealthy that incorporates the “Buffett rule” to ensure that millionaires pay more taxes proportionate to their incomes, and eliminated Bush-era tax rates on households with an annual income above $250,000.
"Higher taxes mean fewer jobs – it’s that simple," Romney said.
Michele Bachmann called Obama's plan a "gimmick" and slammed billionaire investor Warren Buffett, the inspiration for the "Buffett rule,"
who asked the administration to raise taxes on the "super-rich" class.
"If Warren Buffett believes he doesn't pay enough taxes, then he should write a check today to the Treasury, but he and the president shouldn't enact warfare on the millions of small businesses, on charities and on middle class America with increased tax burdens," she said in a statement released through her presidential campaign.
Jon Huntsman called the plan “deeply misguided” and blasted Obama for “peddling a version of the Buffett Tax Hike” throughout his presidency.
“That simply hasn't worked and it won't work now,” he said in a statement.
Herman Cain, another presidential hopeful, also released a statement rejecting Obama’s denial that his plan is “class warfare,” a phrase that House Republican leaders such as Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) have used to describe it.
“President Obama's once said, ‘You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.’ I agree,” Cain said. “It doesn't matter that he calls it ‘paying your fair share.’ It's still class warfare.”
Ron Paul also doubled down on Obama's "class-baiting rhetoric" and predicted the plan would deal a "fatal broadside" to the American economy.
A Buffalo-area teenager who uploaded an “It Gets Better” video in May in which he talked about being bullied for publicly questioning his sexuality has committed suicide, The Buffalo News reports.T
he newspaper reports that 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, in two final messages posted online early Monday, said he really wanted to see his recently deceased great-grandmother, and offered thanks to Lady Gaga.
“He touched so many hearts, so many people,” his mother, Tracy Rodemeyer, tells The News. “I didn’t realize how many people he touched. He was the sweetest, kindest kid you’d e
ver know. He would give all his heart to you before he gave any to himself.”
In his video, which he uploaded onto YouTube in May, Jamey talks about being the target of hateful, anti-gay slurs, saying, “They’d taunt me in the hallways, and I thought I’d never escape it.”
“I virtually have no guy friends,” he says in the video, made at his home in Williamsville, N.Y. “I only have friends who are girls.”
But Jamey clearly intended the video to be upbeat, and talked about how much support he had gotten after he “came out.”
“Love yourself and you’re set,” he says, looking into the camera.”I promise you, it will get better.”
